The work of Matamoros revolves around the concept of stroke, line in movement and ritual processes. Through various means such as painting, drawing, installation, dramaturgy of dress, scenography, video art etc., she has developed different characters, environments and symbols that are based on research in the fields of sociology, psychology and arts on stage.
Matamoros has shown her art Works since 1984 in different countries of Latin America, USA, Europe and Japan. Her art Works are in private and public collections nationally and internationally..

Rossella has shown her works in more than a 130 solo & collective exhibitions in Costa Rica & abroad since 1984. Matamoros has also work in collaborative projects with dancers, actors & musicians since 1995 in Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, Honduras, Japan y United States.
Matamoros is presently working on several installations about, human development, teenagers at risk and performances in Costa Rica, Central America and USA, which also include performances & publications for 2012.
